Lane Closures Planned On GA-400 For Encore Parkway Project

The project to rebuild the bridge will require continuous lane closures on the weekend and nightly lane closures during the week.

Alpharetta, GA -- Weather permitting, contractors with the Georgia Department of Transportation will continue work on a local transportation improvement project for the city of Alpharetta.

The project includes demolition and reconstruction to the Encore Parkway bridge, and the work will require continuous lane closures on the weekend and nightly lane closures during the week.

The bridge work will require two lane closures on S.R. 400 northbound and southbound between Mansell Road and Haynes Bridge Road.

Contractors will pace traffic between the exits, which will cause traffic to slow down to 5 or 10 miles per hour. The traffic pace will allow crews to work on the bridge.

Continuous lane closures will take place over the following weekends:

  • 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 29 to 5 a.m. Monday, Feb. 1
  • 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5 to 5 a.m. Monday, Feb. 8

Nightly lane closures planned during the week are:

  • 9 p.m. Monday, Feb. 1 to 5 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 2
  • 9 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 2 to 5 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3
  • 9 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3 to 5 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 4
  • 9 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 4 to 5 a.m. Friday, Feb. 5

Contractors and heavy equipment will working be in the travel lanes, so motorists should significantly reduce their speeds while traveling through the work zone.
