Local Agencies Install Litter Signs Along the Chattahoochee
"What goes in must come out"
Ever heard the saying “What goes in must come out?” With the massive amounts of bottles, cans and wrappers that make their way into our national parks each year, it’s easier said than done. That fact was the impetus for five organizations combining to install 22 trash-free river and trail signs along the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area from Buford Dam to Whitewater Creek on Saturday, June 22.
The organizations that participated were the Upper Chattahoochee Chapter of Trout Unlimited, the National Park Service, Chattahoochee Riverkeeper, River Through Atlanta and the Chattahoochee Parks Conservancy.
The signs will remind visitors in both English and Spanish of the $300 fine for littering.
