🌱 Local's Lawsuit To Audit State Primary + New FC Sheriff's App!

Here are the top five stories today in Roswell:
- Garland Favorito, of Roswell, filed a lawsuit to audit the 2022 secretary of state primary race in Georgia. Favorito, the co-founder of Voter GA, wants to unseal the secretary of state primary ballots and then Favorito and his associates would scan the ballots. The lawsuit also seeks to invalidate the May 24 secretary of state primary and hold another primary. (Times Free Press)
- The Fulton County Sheriff's Office has a new free FSCO app that allows residents to interact directly with officers. On the app, residents can submit a crime tip, alert the police of suspicious activity, access a real-time map of registered sex offenders, and submit requests for the Fulton County Sheriff's Office's Community Engagement team to participate in community events. Residents can also view the Fulton County Jail inmate roster, add commissary funds, and more. (The Atlanta Journal Constitution)
- At the Jun. 27 Roswell City Council Meeting, Mr. Richard Arena was unanimously approved as Roswell's representative to the Transportation Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (T-SPLOST) Citizens Oversight Council. The Oversight Council will monitor the T-SPLOST 2, which is the 0.75 percent sales tax approved by Fulton County voters in November 2021 to fund transportation projects. (Press Release Desk)
- As of Jun. 28, a total of 16,263 deaths have been attributed to the COVID-19 virus in the Atlanta-Sandy Springs-Roswell metropolitan area. Nationwide there have been 307 deaths per 100,000 people, and in the Atlanta-Sandy Springs-Roswell metropolitan area, there have been 281 deaths attributed to the virus per 100,000 people.
