Man Arrested After Leaving 'Suspicious Package' At Roswell Bank

Roswell Police with Cobb Police arrested a man Thursday morning at Suntrust Bank off Holcomb Bridge after he left a "suspicious package."

ROSWELL, GA — Roswell Police have arrested a man in connection to a suspicious package that was left at a bank Thursday, April 25.

Roswell Police posted on its Facebook page about 10 a.m. that they were currently working with Cobb County Police explosive ordnance disposal unit at the Suntrust Bank, 616 Holcomb Bridge Road. A suspicious package was located at the bank this morning, police said.

At 10:55 a.m., they updated the post and said "all is OK. The bank employees are returning to work and the bank will reopen in about 30 minutes."

WSB-TV reported that bank employees saw a man placing a backpack in the deposit box when they arrived around 9 a.m. The station said the man was taken into custody.

The parking lot was cordoned off, but no roads in the area were blocked, the AJC reported. The news station reported around 11 a.m. that some employees were being allowed in the building.
