Miss Mary’s Ice Cream Crankin’ On Aug. 26 In Roswell

The 14th annual event, a fundraiser for The Drake House, will be held at the Roswell Town Square.

ROSWELL, GA — A popular event giving you a chance to savor some tasty homemade ice cream will return next month to downtown Roswell.

The 14th Annual Miss Mary's Ice Cream Crankin' will be held 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 26 at Roswell Town Square at 610 Atlanta Street.

Residents will be allowed to sample more than 100 flavors of homemade ice cream churned by dedicated community volunteer crankers. Corporate, civic, faith and family teams — or crankers — make homemade ice cream and compete for top awards by local judges. Categories include Best Vanilla, Best Chocolate, Best Fruit, and Best Other Flavor.

Youngsters will also be able to enjoy children's activities such as face painting and a bounce house. If that's not enough, they will also have a chance to compete in the ice cream eating and stacking contests.

Tickets for this event are $6 for individuals and $25 for families of up to five people.

Miss Mary's Ice Cream Crankin' is a fundraiser of The Drake House, which provides housing programs to homeless single mothers and their children in North Metro Atlanta. The program is designed to provide stability for the children and assist the family in working toward self-sufficiency.
