Neighborhood Water Watch Program Seeks Volunteers

ROSWELL, GA -- The city of Roswell will host two informational workshops this month for residents to learn about volunteering with the Chattahoochee Riverkeeper’s Neighborhood Water Watch program.

During the workshops, attendees will learn about collecting water samples for the organization to use in its ongoing efforts to ensure water quality.

Below are the details for both workshops:

• Saturday, Aug. 13 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.: Roswell Area Park, Bill Johnson Community Activity Building 10495 Woodstock Road, Roswell
• Wednesday, Aug. 17 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.: East Roswell Park Recreation Center, Community Room 9000 Fouts Road, Roswell

The Neighborhood Water Watch program aims to improve water quality in urban streams by analyzing water samples for turbidity, conductivity, optical brighteners and bacteria.

These samples are collected by citizen volunteers. This program is suitable for neighborhood groups, families, and students.
