🌱 No AC In Roswell Apartments? + Locals Testify At Jan. 6 Hearing

The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Roswell.

Hi all. It's me, Nicole Fallon-Peek, your host of the Daily. Here's what you need to know about what's happening these days in town.

First, today's weather:

Partly sunny and very hot. High: 94 Low: 72.

Here are the top five stories in Roswell today:

  1. Multiple residents at Roswell apartment complex Grace at Roswell, formerly Crest at Riverside Apartments, said there has been no working air conditioning units for weeks. One resident said, "You wake up and you have sweats, like literally like you're drenched in sweat." The property manager said the complex is working on getting residents the "portable AC and window units" that the complex purchased. The manager cited "delivery delays" as the reason residents are not receiving relief fast enough. (11Alive)
  2. Fulton County mother and daughter, Ruby Freeman and Wandrea Arshaye (Shaye) Moss, testified on Tuesday, Jun. 21, in a hearing investigating the Jan. 6 attack at the U.S. Capitol. They said Trump's former attorney, Rudy Giuliani, wrongfully accused them of committing voter fraud while they were working at a Georgia election poll. The mother and daughter said the USB port that Giuliani claimed they passed to each other was actually a ginger mint. The women said they faced intimidation and violent threats due to his accusations. Ruby Freeman said, "I've lost my name and I've lost my reputation. I've lost my sense of security." (WSB Atlanta)
  3. To celebrate Independence Day, the City of Roswell will host its annual Fourth of July Fireworks Extravaganza starting at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, Jul. 4, at Roswell Area Park located at 10495 Woodstock Road. There will be fireworks, live music, entertainment, and specialty food trucks. (The Georgia Sun)
  4. House hunting just got easier, thanks to Patch and Redfin. View the link to see information about five local open houses this weekend. (Roswell Patch)
  5. The North Fulton Master Gardeners and the UGA Extension in Fulton County are providing free horticultural education to the North Fulton community through virtual gardening education. The lectures can be viewed live, through Zoom or Facebook Live, and viewed at a later date, through YouTube. The first class is Sunday, Sep. 11. One of the presenters, Sandy Shave, moved to Roswell in 2014 after retirement to be nearer to her children and her grandchildren. (Roswell Patch)
