Person Accused Of Stabbing, Killing Roswell Woman Dies: Police

Police say a person they identified as a suspect in the fatal stabbing of a 31-year-old woman walked in front of a moving semi-truck Sunday.

ROSWELL, GA — Roswell police say a person they believed to be a homicide suspect died Sunday after walking in front of a moving semi-truck on the interstate.

Officers responded to a fatal stabbing around 10 p.m. Sunday at Midwood Roswell Apartments on Mimosa Boulevard, according to the Roswell Police Department.

Police said officers found Rosa Evaristo Perez, 31, dead from an apparent stab wound inside of an apartment.

"Family members had come to the home to check on Evaristo Perez’ welfare after receiving vaguely apologetic and confessional messages from a known person," police said in a news release.

While investigating, police said Roswell investigators were contacted by the Sandy Springs Police Department to inform them of a fatal pedestrian traffic crash.

Police said the person exited a parked car on Interstate 285 westbound and walked in front of a semi-truck.

Authorities said they believe the person is the suspect accused in the killing of Perez.

The name of the person is not being released, pending confirmation by the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Police said there are currently no outstanding suspects relating to the homicide investigation.

Sandy Springs police officers are investigating the crash, police said.
