The four-month investigation stemmed from multiple complaints from residents about the ”sale of large amounts of marijuana and pills in the area,” specifically from a house located at 12140 King Road in Roswell, the agency said.
Some complaints also alleged there were sales made to students who attend Roswell High School, which is one mile from the home on King Road, Roswell police said.
The agency added it was ”important for the Roswell Police Department to make the arrests before the start of school,” which was Monday, Aug. 11.
Search warrants were served at the home on King Road, as well as a home on Pullman Trail in Roswell and an apartment at 1950 Roswell Road in Marietta. An additional search warrant was served at a vacant building and lot at 13680 Arnold Mill Road in Roswell.
Seized during the operation were 3.5 lbs of high-grade marijuana, 80 grams of “wax” (concentrated THC), 740 Alprazolam (generic for Xanax) pills, 11 guns, including an AR15 rifle, two handguns and five shotguns, five vehicles and $29,000 in cash.
Additionally, certain bank accounts have been frozen by a court order, Roswell police stated.
“This investigation made a positive impact in reducing the availability of illegal drugs to youths in our area,” said Roswell Police Chief Rusty Grant.
Roswell police noted the investigation has also unveiled a number of known associates and possible leads, which will be followed up on by the Roswell Police Special Investigations Section and other agencies, if appropriate.
