Portion of Oak Street To Close For Water Valve Installation

The road will be closed between Forrest and Myrtle streets 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday.

Roswell, GA -- Oak Street will be closed to through traffic on Thursday between Forrest and Myrtle street so crews can install a new water insertion valve.

The road will be closed from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Dec. 17 so Roswell Water Utility workers can install the valve near the intersection of Oak and Forrest streets, the city of Roswell said.

At the same time, MVP Piping will install a new four-way valve system into the Oak Street water line at the intersection of Oak and Myrtle streets.

The work is expected to be completed in one day and traffic detours will be in place. Motorists are encouraged to avoid the area and use other routes, if possible.

Water service will be disrupted for select customers between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., and those customers have been notified.
