Portion of Woodstock Street To Close For Tree Removal
The tree has been designated as diseased, and poses a risk to the traveling public.

ROSWELL, GA -- The city of Roswell will be closing a portion of Woodstock Street for the removal of a diseased tree in Old Roswell Cemetery.
The closure will be in effect Tuesday, Feb. 14 from Alpharetta Street to Minhinette Drive, and motorists will be detoured around the closure via Green Street and Minhinette Drive.
The tree, which has been identified as diseased by an independent certified arborist, is located within the public right of way and poses risk to the traveling public. It has been determined to be structurally unsound, having deep decay in much of the first six to eight feet of its trunk, the city notes.

A second similarly diseased and compromised tree, located in the public right of way close to Thumbs Up Diner, will be removed on Tuesday, Feb. 21, weather permitting. Both trees have a high potential of causing damage to people or property if they drop limbs or fall.
The city is working closely with the Roswell Historical Society to ensure protection of grave sites and headstones in this important historic cemetery.
