Pound Cake Cook-Off Set For Saturday in Roswell
The city's free event, which is part of its Roswell Roots celebration of Black History Month, will be held Feb. 25.

ROSWELL, GA -- You may want to save some room for a treat following lunch on Saturday in Roswell.
That's because the third annual Southern Sweets Pound Cake Cook-Off is sure to satisfy your taste buds with a savory serving of area residents' best take on this classic.
The event, which is free and open to the public, is part of the city's celebration of Black History Month, and will be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25 at the East Roswell Recreation Center.

As part of Roswell Roots: A Festival of Black History and Culture, guests at this family-friendly event will be invited to taste pound cakes and vote for their favorite submissions.
Competitor categories include professional, amateur, youth, and healthy. First and second place will be awarded in each category as chosen by a panel of judges.

A People’s Choice Award will also be given to the participant with the most votes from guests. Rules and entry form are available at www.roswellroots.com.
Roswell Roots is one of the largest and most comprehensive celebrations of black history and culture in the Southeast.
This year there will be 23 different events throughout the month of February, ranging from music and art exhibitions to demonstrations and poetry.
The festival continues to grow and was honored with the “Gold Award for Best Cultural Event” by the Southeast Festival and Events Association in 2014.
