Candidates Line Up To Qualify In North Fulton (UPDATED)
Three Democrats have qualified to challenge U.S. Rep. Karen Handel for the 6th Congressional District seat.

ROSWELL, GA — Three Democrats are now seeking to challenge incumbent Republican U.S. Rep. Karen Handel to win the 6th Congressional District seat. Handel, who qualified this week to seek her first full term in the U.S. House of Representative, will face a Democratic contender in the Nov. 6 general election.
Three Democrats — Kevin Abel, Steven Knight Griffin and Bobby Kaple — are all vying for their party's nomination to take on Handel in the election (For more news like this, find your local Patch here. Another candidate, Lucy McBath of Cobb County, has also indicated she will seek the seat, but as of Wednesday, has not formally entered the race.

As Patch readers recall, Handel defeated Democratic contender Jon Ossoff for the seat vacated with the resignation of Tom Price. The 6th Congressional District spans all of North Fulton and includes parts of DeKalb and East Cobb counties.
