Recycling Ambassador Wants Roswell Residents to Think 'Beyond The Bin'
Roger Recycles is encouraging residents to bring non-traditional items to the Recycling Center, such as latex paint, TVs and tires.

From the city of Roswell:
The Roswell Recycling Center is pleased to introduce its new ambassador, Roger Recycles.
Roger Recycles will be partnering with the Roswell Recycling Center to help residents think “beyond the bin” when recycling. While almost 70 percent of Roswell residents take advantage of curbside recycling, far fewer realize that there are several options to recycle “beyond the bin” at the Roswell Recycling Center.

Roger will be encouraging Roswell residents to bring non-traditional items to the Center, such as things like latex paint, appliances, televisions, electronics and tires.
“We have been looking for the perfect recycling enthusiast to help us teach our residents that there is a whole world of recycling possibilities out there,” said Janet Liberman, environmental programs manager for the city of Roswell. “As soon as we saw Roger’s résumé, we knew we just had to work with him. Roger has a very strong background in recycling; in fact, he is made of things that can be recycled.”

To say Roger embodies recycling would be an understatement. With newspaper arms, metal hanger hands, a TV-and-plastic bottle torso, aluminum can legs, and a fashionable cardboard hat and jacket, Roger Recycles was born to take on this role for the Roswell Recycling Center.
Roger Recycles admits he gets a lot of questions about his unusual name, but he explains simply, “It’s not just a name. It’s what I do.”
“You’ll be seeing a lot of Roger — on our website, our Facebook page, our printed materials, in our local schools,” said Liberman. “He’s bound to become a household name!”
