Entertainment, food and activities will be held for the entire family throughout the event.

We all have someone in our lives affected by the devastating effects of cancer, so residents are encouraged to join organizers by participating in one of the many fundraising opportunities for this year’s event.

Leading up to the annual event, the Dine Out To Wipe Out Cancer Week initiative will be held April 10-17.

A related project Relay For Life of Roswell is launching is the Hearts of Hope Community Art Project. This fundraising project involves the creation of hundreds of clay hearts that can be purchased and personalized by individuals wanting to honor or remember loved ones affected by cancer. Each personalized heart will then join hundreds of other hearts as part of special art displays at Roswell City Hall and Roswell’s Arts Center West.

Heart making will take take place from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, April 10 at Synergy Fine Arts at 26 Webb Street in Roswell. All supplies will be provided. Hearts can be dedicated at this event as well, and will be added to the unveiling event at City Hall on April 11.

The unveiling of the display will take place when the city will issue a proclamation at 7 p.m. during the Roswell City Council meeting. Another heart making opportunity will be held from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 16 during the Roswell Farmers and Artisans Market.
