The ceremony will be held at 10:30 a.m. at the corner of Market Boulevard and Holcomb Bridge Road. Attendees can park in the lot that runs along the front of the Plaza at Roswell Shopping Center (Frontgate Outlet, Tokyo Boat, etc.), nearest Market Blvd.

The two transportation improvement projects — which were managed by the city of Roswell in partnership with the Georgia Department of Transportation — are integral to the major transportation improvements the city of Roswell has been making along Holcomb Bridge Road at the GA-400 interchange.

The new GA-400 northbound ramp at exit 7A is an operational improvement to eliminate the Holcomb Bridge Road eastbound left-turn “trap lane” approaching Old Alabama Road. Previously, the trap lane was an apparent through-lane that led to a turn-only situation. This created weaving in an out of lanes, and was a source of accidents in the area.

Now, the northbound ramp includes a new dual right-turn lane and a new traffic signal that will eliminate the conflict that previously occurred when traffic flowing east on Holcomb Bridge Road would meet free-flow traffic coming off the ramp.

When finalized, traffic coming off of the ramp will be able to make a right turn on red if the way is clear of pedestrians and oncoming eastbound traffic. A sign prohibiting right turn on red will illuminate briefly if a pedestrian presses the crossing button. The construction cost for this project was $1,040,472 and was funded by GDOT.

The addition a new third westbound through-lane improves mobility and safety and reduces congestion along HBR westbound between Old Alabama Road and the GA-400 northbound on-ramp.

This project includes turn-lane and signal upgrades at the intersections of Old Alabama Road and Market Boulevard, as well as new eight-foot wide, brick-banded sidewalks; pedestrian lighting; and streetscape enhancements along Holcomb Bridge Road. The construction cost for this project was $2,313,985 and was funded by the city's bond referendum, which was overwhelmingly approved by Roswell voters in November 2012.
