Rivers Alive Cleanup Returns Sept. 24
Keep Roswell Beautiful partners with the city and the Chattahoochee Nature Center for the annual statewide initiative.
ROSWELL, GA -- Volunteers will soon converge on Roswell for the annual Rivers Alive cleanup event.
Keep Roswell Beautiful teams up with the city and the Chattahoochee Nature Center for the annual statewide event, which will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 24.
This year, volunteers will focus their efforts on privet (an invasive shrub) removal, litter pick-up at Riverside Park and surrounding areas, and educating residents about stormwater pollution by marking storm drains in local neighborhoods.

Residents who'd like to volunteer for the event must pre-register before lending a hand. Registration can be completed by clicking here.
Georgia's annual volunteer waterway clean up targets streams, rivers, lakes, beaches and wetlands. Rivers Alive's mission is to create awareness of and involvement in the preservation of the state's water resources.

Rivers Alive is held each year in the fall, and is a program of the Georgia Environmental Protection Division Outreach Program.
