Roswell 911 Center Wants to Hire Communications Officer

The city of Roswell 911 Center is hosting an open testing date for the position of communications officer at 8 a.m Saturday, Oct. 18.
It is preferred that candidates submit their applications prior to testing. However, if they are unable to do so, they can drop off completed applications, police questionnaire and documents (listed below) to the testing site at Roswell-Alpharetta Public Safety Training Center, located at 11565 Maxwell Road.

Testing can take up to four hours, so be prepared to stay an extended amount of time based on the number of applicants.
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, have a high school diploma or GED, be a U.S. citizen and be able to successfully challenge a pre-employment testing process and a rigorous background investigation.

Keyboarding of at least 3,500 keystrokes per hour is also a requirement. The salary range for the position is $30,607 to $38,258 and depends on previous experience. Certifications and training program will be provided by the 911 Center.

Candidates must have a valid driver’s license or state issued identification card to participate in the testing process. The following items are not required for testing, but will expedite the hiring process if validated at testing.
Candidates are advised to only bring documents that are applicable:
- Birth certificate or naturalization papers.
- Social Security card.
- Passport.
- High school diploma, GED or home school affidavit.
- College diploma and sealed transcripts.
- DDS214 or official letter of good-standing from commanding officer.
- Signed driver’s history consent form.
- Previous certifications and letters of good-standing, if already certified.
- Marriage license/divorce papers, if name has changed.
