Roswell Approves Multi-Family Use At Former Southern Skillet Property
The property is located along the east side of Alpharetta Street north of Norcross Street.

ROSWELL, GA -- The Roswell City Council recently approved a conditional use permit that would pave the way for redevelopment at a local shopping center.
Council members approved the conditional use for the Roswell Plaza Shopping Center at 1023 Alpharetta Street. The council at its Sept. 13 meeting voted 4-3 to approve the request.
Mayor Jere Wood had to cast the tie-breaking vote in favor while council members Marcelo Zapata, Michael Palermo and Kent Igleheart opposed the measure.

The conditional use was approved with the following conditions:
- Multi-family is allowed as approved with the conditional use not to exceed 30 units per acre.
- The height may go up to 5-and-a-half stories with the conditional use.
- The site plan with the number of residential units must be approved by the Mayor and City Council.
- The process for the project will follow the memorandum outline that was sent from the Downtown Development Authority to the Mayor and City Council dated Aug. 8, 2016.
The shopping center is situated on 4.274 acres near the intersection of Alpharetta Street and Norcross Street.
