Roswell Area Park Named to 'Best of the Best' List
The park was voted Best Park in Appen Media Group's annual "Best of the Best in North Fulton/South Forsyth list for 2014.

The city of Roswell’s Roswell Area Park has been voted “Best Park” in Appen Media Group’s annual “Best of the Best in North Fulton/South Forsyth” list for 2014.
“We’re so thrilled to have Roswell Area Park identified as the ‘Best Park’ by the very community we love serving every day,” said Morgan Rodgers, assistant director of Roswell’s Recreation, Parks, Historic & Cultural Affairs Department. “We’ve worked hard to make Roswell Area Park and our 21 other parks throughout the City among the best in the nation.”

First opened in 1969, Roswell Area Park is a 79.6-acre park that provides comprehensive recreation opportunities for the Roswell community and its visitors. It sits at 10495 Woodstock Road.

-The Bill Johnson Community Activity Building (gymnasiums, indoor track, fitness rooms, stage, and more)
-Olympic-Size Pool and Aquatics Facility
-The Physical Activity Center (gymnastics and performing arts)
-The Visual Arts Center (comprehensive offering of visual arts classes)
-3.2-mile lighted trail system
-Three playgrounds
-12 tennis courts
-Baseball and softball fields
-Brand-New Multi-Use Artificial Turf Fields
-A two-acre lake with fishing
-Several large picnic areas (available to rent)
-Outdoor classrooms
The “Best of the Best” is an annual survey conducted by Appen Media Group — publisher of the Alpharetta-Roswell Revue & News, Northside Woman magazine and several other local publications — that asks readers to identify local favorites a number of categories.
Roswell Area Park will appear among the list of winners in Appen Media’s Annual Medical Answerbook, which is a local resource guide published in September and is distributed to more than 45,000 homes.
It also will be available in public distribution spots across North Fulton for newcomers to the area. Roswell Area Park will also be recognized at a banquet for all “Best of” winners in November.
