Roswell Band Gets Creative With MARCH Fundraiser
Students are asking for pledged donations, which will be 'earned' by students doing projects at local businesses, parks, and other schools.

From Fulton Co. Schools: The Roswell High Band Booster Association is getting creative with their fundraising. On Saturday, March 17, 150 Roswell High School students will participate in a day of community involvement and service, which they’re calling M.A.R.C.H.: Musicians Acting with Responsibility, Compassion and Hard work. Students are asking for pledged donations, which will be ‘earned’ by students doing projects at local businesses, parks, and other schools.
“This fundraiser is a great way to engage students in their community and give back to the incredible town we all live and work in,” said School Governance Council member Beth O’Donovan.
Projects include:

- Cleaning the foam pit at the Roswell Rec
- Cleaning storm drains around town
- Helping elementary students with homework
- Litter pick-up on Roswell walking trails
- Sorting items donated to Foster Care Support
- Working in the gardens at Crabapple Middle School and Mountain Park Elementary
The project has caught the attention of some big names, including Michael Bublé, some folks at Capitol Records, and composers David Foster and William Ross. The band’s goal is $60,000, which will be used to pay for operational needs, as well as lessen their use of county funds. Students are requesting $40 donations, and are expecting 150 participants from Roswell High. If they reach their goal, it would work out to about $5 an hour for their service hours.
