Roswell Bank Robbery Suspect Arrested: Police

ROSWELL, GA — Police arrested a Lithonia man Tuesday afternoon for an armed bank robbery, according to a news release.

Joseph Matthews, 35, was taken to the Fulton County Jail and charged with Armed Robbery, said police.

Shortly after 1 p.m., officers were dispatched to an armed robbery at a Chase Bank, 10515 Alpharetta Street. Police were informed that a suspect had entered the bank and passed a note indicating that he was armed with a gun and demanding a large sum of cash. The bank turned over several thousand dollars to the suspect who fled the scene on foot. Bank staff were able to provide a suspect description which helped officers find him.
