Roswell To Break Ground On East Alley Pathway Improvement Project

The project calls for enhancing outdated infrastructure, adding new lighting and "open opportunities" for businesses along the alley way.

ROSWELL, GA -- The city of Roswell will hold a groundbreaking ceremony next week for the East Alley Pathway Improvement Project, an initiative it said will "open opportunities for business entrances in the alley, unique destinations for shopping and dining, enhanced landscape features and inclusion of public art."

The ceremony will be held at 9 a.m. Sept. 26 to the celebrate the start of the project, which calls for upgrading outdated infrastructure, efficient waste disposal, adding new lighting and implement environment-friendly infrastructure elements. The project is expected to take about seven months and will have road closures behind businesses that front Canton Street, Elizabeth Way and Alpharetta Street. Construction will take place during day light hours and some special requested hours overnight and weekends so as to accommodate utility relocation. It is expected to begin around Oct. 1.

Parking for the ground breaking is at the City Hall parking lot in the West Alley off Canton Street and at the Southern Skillet parking lot. East alley is located at 947-949 Alpharetta Street in Roswell.
