Roswell Buys 'Seven Branches' Property For $2.1 Million

The 34 acres is located along Holcomb Bridge Road between Martin's Landing and Eves Road.

ROSWELL, GA -- Roswell leaders on Monday voted to buy roughly more than 30 acres along Holcomb Bridge Road that could be used as passive park space.

Council members at the Sept. 25 meeting unanimously voted to buy about 34.37 acres of land known as "Seven Branches" on Holcomb Bridge Road between Martin's Landing and Eves Road for a price not to exceed $2.1 million.

Roswell plans to finance the land purchase by using what's called a Georgia Environmental Finance Authority Land Conservation Program loan. Roswell's application has been submitted and is pending review and approval by GEFA.

In 2015, several Roswell residents began pushing the city to purchase the land on the south side of Holcomb Bridge Road to be used for passive park and recreational purposes.

The council also voted to approve spending $39,490 t make repairs at Mimosa Hall. Some of those items include replacing the roof, installing or replacing smoke detectors, carbon detectors or fire extinguishers and mechanisms to prevent moisture from seeping into the structure.
