Roswell Celebrates National Arts & Humanities Month

A mural dedication, bicycle safety expo, and may other events are planning in observance of Arts & Humanities Month.

ROSWELL, GA – The City of Roswell is celebrating National Arts and Humanities Month in October by presenting and partnering with other organizations to host different events through the city.

  • October 8, 12:00 p.m. – Roswell’s Mayor, City Council, Recreation Commission and members of the community with gather to dedicate the new Mural at Roswell Area Park, created by muralist Theresa Arlette.
  • October 13, 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. – The Roswell Cultural Arts Center will host the Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia for enchanting performances of two popular children’s books, Goodnight Moon and The Runaway Bunny.
  • October 15, 7:00 p.m. – The Southern Circuit Tour of Independent Filmmakers will present Almost Sunrise at the Cultural Arts Center, a documentary following two Iraq veterans tormented by depression.
  • October 22, 12:00-3:00 p.m. – Bike Roswell will host a free Bicycle Safety Expo in Riverside Park – near the ArtAround Roswell sculpture “Bicycle Built for Two.”
  • October 26, 7:00-8:30 p.m. – ArtsPlace America’s Executive Director Jamie Bennett will host a Public Conversation on the Arts at Roswell River Landing.
  • October 1-31, 9:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m. – Presented by the Roswell Historical Society, the exhibit “Family Matters: Legacies of the Kings and the Hembrees of Roswell” examines the differences and similarities of the area’s most influential pioneers.
