Roswell Celebrates National Arts and Humanities Month

The city has several events lined up to mark the celebration.

October is National Arts and Humanities Month, and Roswell is celebrating the topic by presenting and partnering with other organizations to present more than 40 different events.

Highlights of National Arts and Humanities Month include:

  • Monday, Sept. 28, 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. – Opening reception for “Best of the Best” photo exhibit by the Roswell Photographic Society at City Hall. The reception will kick-off the entire month-long celebration and be followed by the reading of the proclamation of October as Arts & Humanities Month in Roswell at the City Council meeting.
  • Thursday, Oct. 1, 7 p.m. – Public Conversation on the Arts with a focus on public art hosted by the Roswell Arts Commission at the Roswell Collective.
  • Wednesday, Oct. 14, 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. – Artist Talk with Mark Lunde at the Roswell Adult Recreation Center.
  • Friday, Oct. 23, 8 p.m. - LIVE! in Roswell Presents: Nikki Lane at the Roswell Cultural Arts Center. Tickets at roswellcac.com.
  • Friday, Oct. 30, 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. – Dedication of the “ROSWALL” Community Mosaic on Forrest Street behind the Cultural Arts Center.
  • Sept. 21-Nov. 20 – “Art in the City” – An initiative of the Roswell Arts Commission on behalf of the city of Roswell to display original art. This exhibit highlights 22 artists in locations throughout the city.

In conjunction with this celebration, the 2015-2016 Roswell Arts and Cultural Organizations Directory also is now available. The directory includes listings for 22 arts and cultural organizations in Roswell, many of which are participating in the National Arts and Humanities celebration.
