- At the Jun. 13 Roswell City Council meeting, the Council and the Mayor approved Roswell's Fiscal Year 2023 Budget of $170,653,451, a large increase from the current year. The Council also approved an increase in Stormwater Utility Rates, Sanitation Rates, and Occupation Tax Rates. A service fee of 2.5 percent for credit card transactions to the city was also approved. On Friday, Jun. 24, from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. attendees will see an Apollo Guidance Computer (AGC) and the DSKY, the numeric display and keyboard that astronauts used to communicate with the AGC. There will also be light appetizers, adult beverages, and live music. (Roswell Patch)
- As part of the Georgia River Network's Paddle Georgia 2022, about 40 paddlers left from Settles Bridge in Gwinnett County on a seven-day, 112-mile canoe/kayak journey on the Chattahoochee River. The trip raises funds for Georgia River Network's river protection and water trail development projects and brings attention to the Chattahoochee River Lands project. The participants will paddle about 16 miles each day and camp alongside the river at night; one of the campsites is the Chattahoochee Nature Center in Roswell. (KPVI)
