Roswell Employee Earns Professional Manager of the Year Award

From the City of Roswell: The City of Roswell’s Environmental Public Works Department is pleased to announce that Danelle Murray, the City’s Senior Technical Analyst, was selected for Professional Manager of the Year in Water Resources by the American Public Works Association (APWA). The award was presented at the Georgia Chapter of the APWA annual meeting in Jekyll Island, GA on July 26.

Murray was recognized for leading innovations in water system modeling, storm water modeling, promotion of sustainable infrastructure, technical training of water resources staff and service as a technical instructor for the Public Works Management Institute managed by the Carl Vinson Institute of Government. She is also a Professional Engineer (P.E.).

Her skills and abilities have allowed the City to institute alternative measures for managing storm water in new development such as rain gardens, swales and pervious pavement in lieu of detention ponds.

“I feel honored to have received the award for the APWA Water Resources Manager of the Year for the Georgia chapter. I appreciate APWA’s commitment to excellence in the field of Public Works and APWA’s emphasis on encouraging resilient and sustainable water resources solutions for our cities and towns. I look forward to continuing to learn from the varied and interesting folks around Georgia who share a commitment to the Public Works profession,” says Murray.

Murray was recognized for her accomplishments at the Aug. 14 Mayor and Council meeting.
