Roswell High School To Host Boys Basketball Camps

Roswell High School's boys' basketball camps are kicking off this summer.

ROSWELL, GA - From Roswell High School Basketball: Roswell High School will host two boys basketball camps next week for player who want to improve on their skills. The camps are hosted by Head Basketball Coach Ty Phillips, team staff members and varsity players. The coaching staff has a combined 64 years of coaching experience at all levels.

Hornet FUNdamentals Camp will be in RHS’ Hornets’ Nest Arena from 9 a.m. to noon June 4-7. This camp is for rising second to eighth graders. Advanced registration by May 31 is $130, or $140 for walk-up registration on the first day of camp. Campers will work on offensive and defensive fundamentals, shooting, three-on-three and five-on-five team play, and footwork drills. All campers will receive a skill evaluation and an official Hornet camp T-shirt.

Rising ninth graders interested in playing basketball at RHS can attend the Freshman Academy from 1 to 3 p.m. June 4-7, also in the Hornets’ Nest Arena. The camp focuses on an introduction to RHS basketball and instruction. Activities will include offensive and defensive fundamentals, weights and conditioning, and developing a mental approach to the game. The cost to attend is $30, and participants will receive a Hornet Basketball shirt.

Under Coach Phillips’ tenure, the Roswell Hornets have played in multiple state tournaments and have a region regular season championship to their credit. Coach Phillips has twice been named North Fulton Coach of the Year and Region Coach of the Year.
