Roswell Hires New Recreation And Parks Director

Jeff Leatherman is expected to start in the position early to mid-July.

ROSWELL, GA — The city of Roswell has hired Jeff Leatherman to be its next Recreation, Parks, Historic and Cultural Affairs director. Leatherman is currently the director of Regional Parks for Sacramento County, California, where he oversees the operation and management of 15,000 acres of parkland, including 62 active parks, more than 30 miles of trails, a nature center, three community centers and the American River Parkway.

Leatherman said he is excited to be named Roswell’s new Recreation, Parks, Historic and Cultural Affairs director. The position has been without a permanent replacement for more than a year. As readers recall, Morgan Rodgers resigned from the Roswell post to become the city of Alpharetta's director of Parks Recreation and Culture. Jeff Pruitt has served as Roswell's interim director since Rodger's departure.

“I am looking forward to joining a dynamic team that provides award-winning parks, facilities and programs for the city of Roswell," he said.
