Roswell To Host Free Car Seat Checks

The event will be held Sept. 24 at Fire Station No. 5 on Hembree Road.

ROSWELL, GA -- The Roswell Fire Department, in partnership with Safe Kids North Fulton, will offer free car seat inspections and education to parents and caregivers on Saturday, Sept. 24.

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Fire Station 5, located at 1200 Hembree Road.

Car seat checks will be performed by certified child passenger safety technicians.

The event is part of National Seat Check Saturday and Child Passenger Safety Week, which runs Sept. 18-24 and is dedicated to teaching people about the importance of correct installation and use of car seats, booster seats, and seat belts.

During the event, attendees will also be reminded of the importance of registering car seats with the manufacturer so they can be notified in the event of a recall. This event is free and open to all parents and caregivers.

Additionally, members of the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety Bike Team will be on-site to discuss bicycle safety, including choosing the correct helmet and wearing it properly.
