Roswell To Host Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day
The collection drive will be held Saturday, Oct. 21 at the city's Public Works/Transportation/Fire facility.

ROSWELL, GA -- Roswell's Public Works/Environmental Department on Saturday will host a household hazardous waste collection for those who need to get rid of various items taking up space around the home.
This event, which will run from 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 21, is for Roswell residents only - no commercial entities will be allowed to participate. These items can be dropped off at the city's Public Works/Transportation/Fire facility at 1810 Hembree Road -- NOT the Roswell Recycling Center.
Items that will be accepted include:

- Paint thinner/turpentine
- Pesticides including: fertilizers, herbicides, flea and tick products, fungicides, insecticides, rodenticides
- Undiluted pool chemicals
- Household cleaners
- Fluorescent bulbs
- Propane gas cylinders
- Mercury thermometers/thermostats
- Household batteries (non-rechargeable)
- Aerosols, including aerosol paint
- Automotive brake fluid/used motor oil filters (no other automotive fluids)
Residents should note that latex or oil-based paint will not be accepted at this location, as those items can be dropped off at the Recycling Center (SIGN UP: Get Patch's Daily Newsletter and Real Time News Alerts. Or, if you have an iPhone, download the free Patch app).
The CARE Environmental Corporation will be handling and disposing of the materials, which cannot be dropped off prior to the event.
