UPDATE: Roswell Cancels Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event

The event was scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 21 at the city's Public Works/Transportation/Fire facilities on Hembree Road.

The city of Roswell has canceled the event due to winter weather conditions expected to move into the city Saturday morning. A future date will be announced.

Roswell’s Public Works/Environmental Department on Saturday will hold a household hazardous waste collection event. This event is for Roswell residents only; no commercial entities will be allowed to participate.

The event will run from 9 a.m. to noon Feb. 21 at 1810 Hembree Road, the location of the city’s Public Works/Transportation/Fire facilities.

Please note this event is not at the Roswell Recycling Center. This collection is for Roswell residents only; no commercial entities will be allowed to participate.

Materials accepted will be:

  • Oil based paint (no latex paint will be accepted)
  • Paint thinner/turpentine
  • Pesticides including: fertilizers, herbicides, flea and tick products, fungicides, insecticides, rodenticides
  • Undiluted pool chemicals
  • Household cleaners
  • Fluorescent bulbs
  • Propane gas cylinders
  • Mercury thermometers/thermostats
  • Household batteries (non-rechargeable)
  • Aerosols including aerosol paint
  • Automotive brake fluid/used motor oil filters (no other automotive fluids)

The Environmental Quality Company will be handling and disposing of the materials. Materials cannot be dropped off prior to the event.
