ROSWELL, GA -- Next month, the city of Roswell will host a free Touch-A-Truck event for citizens, children or anyone who's itching to see the inside of a police car or a street sweeper.

The event will be held on Saturday, May 14, and kicks off National Public Works Week, which runs May 15-21.

Residents can engage in this experience from 9:30 a.m. to noon at Roswell City Hall.

Touch-A-Truck provides the opportunity for citizens of all ages to see firsthand the equipment used to provide necessary services to their families.

Children and adults alike will explore the mysterious workings of the street sweeper, learn how the sanitation trucks work, and get an up-close look at a variety of public works, transportation, fire and police vehicles.

National Public Works Week honors the men and women who work in community development, transportation, public works/environmental and building operations. This year’s theme is “Public Works Always There.”
