Roswell JROTC Team To Compete In Leadership Bowl
Roswell High School's JROTC team earned top scores out of the 1,329 U.S. Army JROTC teams that competed from around the world.

From Roswell High: After advancing through two phases of online competition, the Roswell High School’s JROTC Leadership Team will compete in person at the Championship event in Washington, DC. The team is composed of Cadet Captain Connor Miller (team captain and a sophomore), Cadet Lieutenant Colonel Liam Reeder (a junior), Cadet Major Nathaniel Smith (a sophomore), and Cadet First Sergeant Sebastian Sanchez (a sophomore). The students will compete in person at the Championship event in Washington, DC.The 2018 U.S. Army JROTC Leadership Bowl Championship will be held on the campus of The Catholic University of America, June 22-26, 2018. This event is sponsored by the U.S. Army Cadet Command, JROTC Headquarters and is conducted by College Options Foundation.
Roswell High School’s JROTC team earned top scores out of the 1,329 U.S. Army JROTC teams that competed from around the world. The team is one of only 40 Army JROTC Leadership Bowl teams in the nation to advance to the National Leadership Bowl competition, which includes an all-expense paid trip to the Championship event in DC. During the two fast-paced preliminary rounds, cadets were tested on their knowledge of current events, leadership values, and leadership skills.
“I am so proud of these students and not only the hard work they do but the way they proudly represent Roswell High School and our community,” said Robert Shaw, Ed.D, principal of Roswell High School. “Like so many of our Career and Technical Programs, JROTC puts a focus on educating the entire student and academic success is a key component.”

The JROTC Leadership & Academic Bowl (JLAB) is a nationally recognized competition created exclusively for JROTC students. By participating, cadets learn the values of citizenship, academic competition, and college opportunity. The competition creates tremendous opportunities for JROTC cadets by allowing them to demonstrate leadership and academic abilities.
Roswell High School’s JROTC program currently has 87 committed cadets who participate in about one event each week and competitions or other events nearly every Saturday. Each summer selected cadets are groomed for leadership positions for the upcoming school year at Junior Cadet Leadership Challenge.
