Roswell Launches New Youth Theater Program

ROSWELL, GA -- The Roswell Recreation, Parks, Historic & Cultural Affairs Department has rolled out a new theater program for children ages 8 to 18, the Roswell Youth Theater.

RYT will be under the direction of Artistic Director Leslie Kelley, Musical Director Jeanne Luke and Choreographer Nancy Whitehead.

The organization is "committed to professional instruction and choreography that nurtures young actors, produces quality performances and creates a fun and inclusive environment for the community," the city said Monday.

Disney’s Peter Pan, Jr. has been chosen as the inaugural performance for RYT, and will take place Jan. 27-28, 2016, at the Roswell Cultural Arts Center.

Auditions for Peter Pan, Jr. will be held at the Arts Center at 950 Forrest Street from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Aug. 15 and Aug. 16.

Those auditioning will be required to prepare a one-minute monologue from a play or musical and a one-minute song from a musical.
