- Looking for some fun activities, classes, or events this week? Take a look at what's happening this week at the Roswell Branch of the Fulton County Library System! The library regularly holds events for people of all ages and interests, and this week is no exception. This week, you can join the LEGO club, take free ESL classes, join needlecrafters, and more. - The City of Roswell's Recreation, Parks, Historic and Cultural Affairs, in partnership with Roswell Roots, will host Roswell Celebrates Juneteenth, a series of events and programs taking place Friday, Jun. 17 through Sunday, Jun. 19, 2022. Aaron Nigel Smith, a Grammy-nominated producer and Billboard No. 1 artist, will kick-off events at the Cultural Arts Center on Friday.(City of Roswell)
- The first Breakfast with Butterflies of the season is happening Sunday, Jun. 19 at Chattahoochee Nature Center. Tickets must be reserved by the Thursday before the event and cost $25 for the general public or $15 for CNC members per person. The next one will be held on Jul. 10. (Chattahoochee Nature Center)
- Atlanta city leaders are expected to discuss efforts to combat crime this morning, Jun. 13, at 11 a.m. at the Fulton County Courthouse. The city and county leaders will discuss a new community court watch program, which officials claim will put trained members of the public in court proceedings. These trained members are expected to track bond decisions, sentences and other outcomes, especially in cases involving repeat offenders. (CBS 46)
- Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis has added to her security detail following the indictment of rapper Young Thug. Willis also added protection due to threats from supporters of former President Donald Trump after she announced a special grand jury in Georgia would be investigating events connected to the presidential election. The D.A. has said she doesn't believe the rapper or anyone involved with the indictment is involved with the threats and implied some wayward fans could be responsible for the threats.
