Roswell, Milton To Host Bulky Trash Amnesty Day On Nov. 18

You can also drop off musical instruments, which will be cleaned and repaired for donation to less fortunate local middle school students.

ROSWELL, GA -- The Public Works departments of Roswell and Milton, along with Keep Roswell Beautiful, are inviting their residents to dispose of unwanted, large items at no charge during its Bulky Trash Amnesty Day this weekend.

Residents of these two cities can take advantage of the service from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 18 at the Roswell Public Works Division at 1810 Hembree Road (NOT held at the Roswell Recycling Center). Proof of residency is required, and utility bills are the preferred method for verification. Roswell residents with the window decal do not need any other form of identification.

Residents are asked to arrive early, as this is a popular event. The gates will close promptly at noon.

Some of the items that will be accepted are:

  • Mattresses and box springs
  • Tires (must be off the rim, automobile tires only; limit four per car)
  • Sofas
  • Tables
  • Refrigerators
  • Chairs
  • Washers and dryers
  • Electronics - no televisions or monitors
  • Deactivated cell phones

  • Paint
  • Televisions and monitors
  • Household hazardous waste
  • Any fluids including motor oil and anti-freeze
  • Household batteries
  • Construction and demolition materials
  • Yard waste

Materials will only be accepted at the site on the day of the event and only during the hours of 8 a.m. to noon.

Organizers will also be accepting musical instruments, which will be cleaned and repaired for donation to local middle school students who would otherwise be unable to afford them. This collection is in partnership with Roswell organization Klaasical Music.
