Roswell Named Bicycle Friendly Community For Bike-Friendly Programs, Initiatives

The City of Roswell was recognized again by the League of American Bicyclists.

ROSWELL, GA — The City of Roswell has once again been recognized by the League of American Bicyclists with a bronze-level Bicycle Friendly Community (BFC) award, according to a news release.

Roswell maintains its place as a leader in bicycle-oriented activities and infrastructure. It was the first municipality in Georgia to earn this distinction in 2006, and the City has successfully maintained its status for 15 consecutive years.

“Biking has the power to transform our nation economically, environmentally, and socially and it’s so important that communities like Roswell have laid the groundwork over several years to make biking a safe, accessible option for all,” said Bill Nesper, executive director of the League of American Bicyclists, in the release.

“Being designated as a bicycle-friendly community for the 15th consecutive year, shows the City of Roswell’s commitment to improve and expand biking in Roswell,” said Mayor Lori Henry in the release. “The City will continue to be a thought-leader and enhance conditions for bicycling through infrastructure projects, investment in bicycling promotion, and education programs.”
