Roswell Native Runs For City Council
Matt Judy, a Roswell native, wants to implement "smart growth policies" and attack traffic problems.

ROSWELL, GA - From Matt Judy: Roswell native Matt Judy has qualified to run for the City Council on a platform of protecting and improving the quality of life in his hometown. “I grew up in Roswell, going to neighborhood schools, riding my bike on city streets and watching this city grow and prosper,” Judy said. “As a council member, I will fight to protect our quality of life through smart growth policies, strengthening city services and attacking the traffic problems that plague us.” He is seeking election to the open Post 6 seat.
Judy is the co-founder of Blue Giraffe Sports, a global athlete/corporate marketing and management agency leader in the golf and entertainment industries. He has a BS in Management from Georgia Tech and a Juris Doctor from The Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University.
Judy lives near his childhood home, with his wife Allison and their 5-year- old son Coleman, who
now attends his elementary alma mater Roswell North. He devotes his spare time to family and
community, including coaching his son’s sports teams and serving as a resource for fellow
residents about city issues. “It is a source of great pride for me to be living in the town where I
grew up,” Judy said. “My wife and I want our son to have the opportunity to raise his family in
our hometown.”

Judy’s candidacy is no surprise to those who know him. “While most of us were going about our
daily school lives growing up, Matt was always organizing and pulling us together for the
common good,” said Toby Newkirk, a longtime friend and supporter of Judy, “For most of us,
Matt’s running for Roswell City Council has not been a matter of if, but when. He’s had a
successful business career, he loves this city and he’ll be a great councilman for us.”
I will be an advocate for what I call The Roswell Way,” Judy said. “We need to make smart
decisions about how we grow, make sure city services are strong and responsive and enhance
our parks and greenways.” Judy said, “Our decisions will affect the quality of life of everyone in
our community for years to come. I advocate policies that provide jobs and opportunity while
protecting the unique qualities of Roswell. At the same time, we need to protect and expand
our world-class parks and make sure city services keep up with steady growth.” Judy said
attacking traffic would be a high priority. “A lot of our traffic problems come from people
passing through Roswell to and from work,” Judy noted. “I will engage with county, state and
federal officials to make sure decisions made at those levels don’t adversely affect Roswell.”
