Roswell North Students "Share the Love" With Less Fortunate Residents
Students provided support to The Drake House and Homestretch by filling baskets with personal care items for families they serve.
Roswell North Elementary students and their families attended school Saturday, but it wasn’t to learn in the traditional sense.
In keeping with the spirit of Valentine’s Day, it was a day to learn how to “share the love" and give back to the community at the school’s first-ever community service day.
The school cafeteria was a highly charged atmosphere, with school families noshing on donated Chick-Fil-A sandwiches, Krispy Kreme donuts, and Publix water bottles while assembling love baskets with personal care items for homeless families to support The Drake House and Homestretch in Roswell.

Additionally, school girl scout troops donned their vests, decorated Valentine’s Day cards, and baked treats for seniors living at Brookdale Nursing Home.
"Every morning our students recite the RNE honor code, which begins with ‘I will do the right thing because it is the right thing to do'," says Joy Fofana, RNE school counselor and co-program manager (along with Ms. Clatrina Lane, RNE teacher). “Service projects like ‘Share the Love’ perfectly demonstrate this honor code, and will hopefully teach our students to become lifelong community helpers.”
