Roswell Organizes Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event

The event, which is only for Roswell residents, will run from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Oct. 4.

On Saturday, Roswell’s Public Works/Environmental Department will host an event to allow city residents to dispose of their household hazardous waste items.

This event, set for Oct. 4, is for Roswell residents only. No commercial entities will be allowed to take part in the event.

The event will run from 9 a.m. to noon at the city’s public works, transportation and fire facilities at 1810 Hembree Road.

Items accepted:

  • Oil-based paint
  • Paint thinner/turpentine
  • Pesticides including: fertilizers, herbicides, flea and tick products, fungicides, insecticides, rodenticides
  • Undiluted pool chemicals
  • Household cleaners
  • Fluorescent bulbs
  • Propane gas cylinders
  • Mercury thermometers/thermostats
  • Household batteries (non-rechargeable)
  • Aerosols including aerosol paint
  • Automotive brake fluid/used motor oil filters (no other automotive fluids)

The city will not accept latex paint at this event.

The Environmental Quality Company will be handling and disposing of the materials. Materials cannot be dropped off prior to the event.
