Roswell Plans Household Hazardous Waste Collection

ROSWELL, GA -- The Roswell Public Works/Environmental Department will host a Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event next week.

The city's event will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 19 at 1810 Hembree Road. The event will not be held at the Roswell Recycling Center.

This event is for Roswell residents only, and no commercial entities will be allowed to take advantage of the service.

Items that will be accepted include:

  • Paint thinner/turpentine
  • Pesticides including: fertilizers, herbicides, flea and tick products, fungicides, insecticides, rodenticides
  • Undiluted pool chemicals
  • Household cleaners
  • Fluorescent bulbs
  • Propane gas cylinders
  • Mercury thermometers/thermostats
  • Household batteries (non-rechargeable)
  • Aerosols including aerosol paint
  • Automotive brake fluid/used motor oil filters (no other automotive fluids)

No latex or oil-based paint will be accepted at this event. Residents can take these items to the Recycling Center during normal operating hours.

The CARE Environmental Corporation will be handling and disposing of the materials. Materials cannot be dropped off prior to the event.
