Roswell Police Accepting Citizens Academy Applications

The 10-week class exposes residents to various aspects of law enforcement. The application deadline is Aug. 20.

ROSWELL, GA — Residents will soon have the opportunity to learn more about the inner workings of the Roswell Police Department.

The agency is now accepting applications for its Citizens Police Academy Class, which begins Thursday, Sept. 6. The 10-week class will run from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. each Thursday at the Roswell Police Department at 39 Hill Street. Graduation will be held Thursday, Nov. 8 at Roswell City Hall.

Members will enjoy a ride-along with a patrol officer, firearms simulator and presentations from several divisions including SWAT, detectives, K-9, traffic enforcement, and other specialty units. Roswell Police Citizens Police Academy embroidered polo shirts are provided to the members, the agency often uses graduates as volunteers for future initiatives.

The program is free to Roswell residents and business owners 21 years of age or older. Applications must be submitted by Aug. 20. You can go online to download the application.
