Roswell Police Beef Up Patrols Following Suspicious Activity Call
A caller told police they were afraid a man driving a white van would try to talk or grab children buying ice cream on Barrington Way.

ROSWELL, GA -- Roswell police are increasing patrols in neighborhoods on the east side of the city after receiving a call of a suspicious man driving a white van.
Police received a call of suspicious activity around 4 p.m. Monday, Oct. 10 on Barrington Way, which is located in the Barrington Farms subdivision off Old Alabama Road.
The caller said a man in his late 40's was driving a white van around the subdivision after local children were getting ice cream.

The caller told police they'd assumed "that the male in the van was going to talk or grab the kids," Roswell police said in its Nixle alert.
By the time the responding officer arrived at the location, the caller was not on the scene. Additionally, Roswell police did not locate any witnesses to substantiate that citizen's story.

"We would like to assure the neighborhoods on the east side of Roswell that there is no information indicating that any children were approached," the agency added. "As a precautionary measure, we have stepped up patrols in these neighborhoods, and as always, we encourage you to call 911 to report any suspicious activity."
