Roswell Police: Conduct Your Online Transactions At Our Station

The Roswell Police Department is reminding its citizens that they can come to the police station for a safe place to conduct their online transactions.

The agency posted the reminder note on its Facebook page, referencing the “very tragic ending to a Marietta couple that was found murdered in Telfair County when they were trying to purchase a car.”

“Sadly, this story is not an isolated incident and we want you to have a safe haven to conduct your transactions,” the agency said. “Please know that you can always come to the Roswell Police Department during normal business hours to handle a transaction in a safe place.”

Roswell officers are in the lobby from 8 a.m. to 5 pm. Monday through Friday for residents. These officers can also help you by checking the serial numbers of items to make sure they have not been reported stolen, police said.

As a word of caution, Roswell police say when responding to an ad on sites such as Craigslist, residents should ask sellers to meet them at the police station.

“If they don’t want to meet you here, then you should take that as a warning not to conduct business with that person,” the agency said.

Roswell police headquarters are located at 39 Hill Street in downtown Roswell.
