Drug Take-Back Day On April 28 In Roswell
The Roswell Police Department welcomes the community to use the free and anonymous services on Saturday, April 28.

From the Roswell Police Department: The Roswell Police Department will be collecting potentially dangerous expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs for destruction during the National Drug Take Back Day.
Residents can drop off these medications from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 28 at the Roswell Recycling Center, which is located at 11570 Maxwell Road. The Roswell Police Department is partnering with the Drug Enforcement Administration and WellStar North Fulton Hospital for the event. WellStar will be on sight to collect sharps/needles and will take them off-site for a proper and safe disposal. The service is free and anonymous.
Many Americans are not aware that medicines that languish in home cabinets are highly susceptible to diversion, misuse and abuse. Rates of prescription drug abuse in the U.S. are increasing at alarming rates, as are the number of accidental poisonings and overdoses due to these drugs.

Studies show that a majority of abused prescription drugs are obtained from family and friends, including from the home medicine cabinet. In addition, numerous people do not know how to properly dispose of their unused medicine, often flushing them down the toilet or throwing them away – both potential safety and health hazards.
