A man broke into a home on Old Ferry Way and attempted to sexually assault a woman early Wednesday morning.
The Roswell Police Department is investigating a home invasion and attempted rape that occurred early Wednesday morning.
At around 6 a.m. June 18, Roswell officers were dispatched to a home on Old Ferry Way, which sits off Old Holcomb Bridge Road west of S.R. 400.
According to a press release from the agency, the suspect "entered the home from a back window and surprised the resident while she was in her bedroom sleeping."
"The suspect began to drag the female out of her bed and tried to force himself on her," spokesperson Lisa Holland said.
The woman fought off the attacker, who left the house. The woman was not seriously injured, but she was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The suspect is described as a young black or Hispanic man with a medium complexion, around 19 or 20 years old and is between 5’7 and 5’9 inches tall.
At the time of the incident, he was wearing shorts, but no shirt, Holland said.
