Roswell Police Officer Passes Away

The Roswell Police Department and the city are mourning the loss of one of their officers.

Lt. Scott Walters passed away suddenly, the agency wrote on its Facebook page.

The police lieutenant “served honorably and with distinction” Roswell and its residents from January 1997 to Oct. 23, 2014. Most recently, he commanded the agency’s Uniform Patrol “C” Squad, “but his influence reached well beyond one squad,” Roswell police said.

“Lt. Walters will be dearly missed and has left a void in the police department that can never be filled,“ the agency wrote.
