Roswell Proposes To Lower Millage Rate
The city will hold three public hearings to give residents a chance to weigh in on its plans to lower the rate.

ROSWELL, GA — The city of Roswell has announced its proposed millage rate for fiscal year 2019. The proposed rate — 4.955 mills — is a reduction of .500 mills, compared to previous years when the city's millage rate held steady at 5.455 since fiscal year 2009.
Roswell's rate includes 4.705 mills for Maintenance & Operations and 0.250 mills for Debt Service. Each mill represents $1 of tax assessment per $1,000 of assessed property value. The city notes its proposed rate is among the lowest in metro Atlanta.
The Mayor and City Council will hold three public hearings on the proposed rate for 2019. Meetings are scheduled for 7 p.m. Aug. 13, 6 p.m. Aug. 14 and 7 p.m. Aug. 27. All meetings will be held in the Council Chambers at Roswell City Hall at 38 Hill Street.
